Hello Happy couples and welcome to my very 1st blog!
I thought the perfect topic for my first blog would be one of my very first weddings. Starting a new business is an exciting but nerve wrecking at the same time. So in 2005 when I was given the opportunity to plan a wedding for 200 guest with a budget of over $60,000 I was both ecstatic and scared out of mind!! But I pulled myself together and started planning!!
My clients Allison & Brandon wanted a grand affair to say the least. Everything had to be the very best and they spared no expense. After our initial consultation I constructed a team of vendors that would execute their vision perfectly. The most important element for the happy couple was the venue. They wanted a beautiful garden, waterfalls, and a beautiful ballroom. To give them all they wished for, I turned to The Swan Club located in Roslyn Harbor, Long Island. The landscaping is breath taking and they fell in love with the property and the friendly staff at the first meeting. Another important element for was the photography. They wanted a fresh approach to their wedding album and to make this happen, I turned to Barrie Dail of Barrie Dail Photography. Barrie is extremely talented, professional, friendly and takes photos as if they were art not just a wedding photo. At the end of the night, he produced a small album for them to take home. I was blown away by the surprised gift he presented. After the venue and the photographer were booked, all of the other elements fell right into place beautifully. With a mango and yellow color scheme, every detail reflected their vision. Mango calla lilies, orange Asiatic lilies and dessert sunset roses were the flowers of choice. The were arranged differently for the ceremony, cocktail hour and the reception with a cohesive look throughout. From the glass coasters wrapped in mango colored ribbon, to the monogram cake topper, to the aisle runner that was covered with rose petals, every detail tied in fabulously. Their wedding will always be near and dear to my heart. This is the wedding that changed my career and for this opportunity I will always be grateful for.
